Our client, a specialist power engineering consultancy, is hiring a E.I.T Substation Engineer to join their Protection & Controls team. This fully remote role involves designing high-voltage substation protection and control systems and supporting integration of P&C, SCADA, and automation systems. The position offers strong long-term growth potential toward PE licensure and advanced technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify P&C design documents (one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, BOMs, etc.)
- Design AC/DC auxiliary systems and SCADA/communications interfaces
- Conduct relay studies, perform calculations (relay burden, voltage drop, short circuit, battery sizing), and create relay settings
- Support system integration and project coordination with PMs, clients, and technical teams
- Occasionally perform site walkdowns and contribute to cost estimating
Requirements:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in P&C design for 15–500 kV substations
- EIT certification required
- Strong understanding of utility substation project lifecycles and engineering deliverables
