We are supporting a privately owned, WBE-certified engineering and project management consultancy expanding their Power Delivery operations nationally. As part of this growth, they are hiring a General Manager of Engineering Services to drive operational alignment and performance across Substation, Transmission, Distribution, and PMO teams.
This role provides a highly visible leadership opportunity — ensuring the technical, financial, and delivery success of multi-discipline engineering operations while enabling continued scalability and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day engineering and project management execution across multiple delivery teams
- Resolve technical challenges and execution issues in support of operational excellence
- Identify and eliminate efficiency gaps in workflows, tools, and departmental coordination
- Standardize QA/QC, engineering standards, safety procedures, and PM frameworks
- Support workforce planning, resource allocation, and cross-functional delivery success
- Coach Directors and help lead talent development, succession, and capability expansion
- Strengthen collaboration and information sharing between Substation, T-Line, and Distribution
- Support BD and client delivery through direct client interaction when needed
- Manage high-risk escalations and alignment across multiple service areas
- Assist with proposal reviews, pricing, margin validation, and scope development
- Track team health and performance through KPIs and financial reporting
- Drive continuous improvement and support implementation of new tools and services
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 15+ years’ leadership experience in utility engineering or major infrastructure delivery
- Strong operational experience across Substation, Transmission, and Distribution disciplines
- Proven background managing large multi-discipline engineering or construction teams
- Consulting environment experience strongly preferred
- PE license preferred
- Ability to influence operational strategy, financial performance, and client outcomes
- Strong coaching, communication, and organizational capabilities
- Able to travel to client sites as needed
