Relay Technician - $35 – $50/ph
At b19 consulting we are working with a local supplier in Texas to find a Relay Technician to their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of protective relays and related equipment, ensuring the reliability of the electric grid. Whether you have years of experience or are eager to learn, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment and systems.
- Install, maintain, and test protective relays and other electrical equipment.
- Provide technical support to both internal teams and external clients.
- Stay updated on electrical protection testing principles and practices.
- Work independently and collaborate with a team to meet safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience in the construction/maintenance of power substation protection, diagnostic, monitoring, or control systems, or relevant experience.
- A degree in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, or a related field may be substituted for some experience.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Experience:
- Commissioning and maintaining protective devices in electric transmission substations (69kV and above).
- Working with electro-mechanical and microprocessor-based protective relays.
- Familiarity with Doble F6150 test sets and Enoserv RTS testing software.
